Mother Blessing
I am here to hold a container of love and healing for mothers blooming
Through Photography and ritual rites of passages like Mother blessings, I work directly with blooming mothers to find a place of rest and receiving to tap into the immense creative and transformative energy moving through mothers during pregnancy

What are Mother Blessings?
Also known as Blessingsways or belly blessings,
A traditional Navajo Rite of Passage or ceremony that has been adopted by modern mothers who are seeking a supportive and nourishing environment before giving birth. The motherblessing is solely about the mama's emotional and spiritual needs as they prepare for the journey of motherhood.
What to expect?
Motherblessings are a sacred circle, where the mama is surrounded by her closest women. This can be her own mother, sisters, friends, aunties.
In this circle, we set aside 2-3 hours to care for, nourish, and uplift the mama to be.
We do this through ceremony, ritual, and gratitude sharing.

Why would a mother want a Motherblessing?
Motherblessings should not be confused with the more commonly known Baby shower. Where a baby shower is a modern celebration focused on celebrating the baby, the mother blessing is always centred around the mother.
Most mothers, new or even veterans, find themselves depleted at the end of their pregnancy. The overwhelm of impending change, and physical discomfort can make it difficult to find time to centre the heart and soul of the mama to be. That is where the mother blessing comes in.
This rite of passage is where the mama can leave all her worries be

I remember my own Blessing way when I was initiated into the circle of motherhood. There are not many events that are as symbolic and transformative as rites of passage. It is something lacking in our wester culture, and many don't even know what they are missing.
When a group os sisters offered to host a blessingway for me, I was completely unaware of the significance of such an event, and was equally exited and anxious to have one centred around me.
There was a feeling of unworthiness that washed over me, but I softened and allowed myself to receive.
In that openness, I received a vital piece of wisdom that I lost shortly after. But that wisdom was never truly lost as it lives in all women.
It is the wisdom of Sisterhood and the importance of sisterhood in the initiation of Motherhood
